jack turns one

I remember celebrating my sweet 16th at my Grandparents 40th wedding anniversary. I wasn't too pleased at the time. Now I look back with such admiration for their love for each other, and I'd give anything to go back to that day to be more present with them. I know now that sharing a birthday with a special occasion, such as a wedding, is actually good luck, and a pretty special thing. 

I photographed this little dude this time last year when he was just a few weeks old. This year he celebrated his first birthday on the same day as his Aunt and Uncles wedding. All the guests of the intimate wedding crammed into a cozy room, drank mimosas, devoured crepes, and celebrated Jack's First Birthday.

It was also his first encounter with carrot cake. Definitely not the last!
